The quality of iron castings has a great impact on the performance of mechanical products. For example, the wear resistance and dimensional stability of machine tool castings can also directly affect the accuracy of machine tools. The size, accuracy and surface roughness of the impeller, shell and inner cavity of hydraulic parts of various pumps directly affect the working efficiency of pumps and hydraulic systems, energy consumption and the development of cavitation.
The quality of iron castings includes appearance quality, internal quality and service quality. The appearance quality refers to the surface roughness, surface defects, size deviation, shape deviation and weight deviation of the casting, while the internal quality mainly refers to the chemical composition, physical properties, mechanical properties, metallographic structure of the casting, as well as the holes, cracks, inclusions, segregation and other conditions existing in the casting.
Features
This kind of iron casting has high precision, and is a new process with nearly no allowance and accurate molding. The process does not require mold taking, parting surface and sand core, so the casting has no flash, burr and draft angle, and the size error caused by core combination is reduced. It provides sufficient freedom for the structural design of castings. Highly complex castings can be produced by combination of foam plastic molds.
